After the successful long run on Anglesey and a great week of relaxing on our favourite island parkrun day came round or Saturday day as it’s more commonly called. We’d arranged to leave the cottage a bit later than normal giving us time to visit Penryhn parkrun which ran round (literally) Penrhyn Castle, just outside Bangor. I’d been looking forward to the Montane Trail 26 Rivington trail run for a while and with it being on my local stomping ground I’d run most of the route before, admittedly not all at once. The time had come and we set of from Lancashire towards Snowdonia for the Trail Marathon Wales. The drive down through North Wales’ mountains was beautiful, made even more so by bright blue skies with only the odd small cloud (thank goodness we’d packed sunscreen ).
